Cydney Vigliotti relocated with her husband to Federal Hill 15 months ago from Columbus, TX where she owns a boutique called The Velvet Frog. While Sutton makes monthly trips back to the Houston area and runs many assets of boutique online and over the phone on a daily basis, she is now ready to open another shop her new home of South Baltimore. Sutton will be launching Punch at 1132 S. Charles St. in the former home of Vanessa’s Vintage Treasures (relocated to 1028 S. Charles).
Vigliotti is working with a contractor on a full renovation of the 1500 sq. ft. space and is hoping to open this April. Punch will sell a lot of jewelry, especially costume jewelry, but will also offer women’s clothing and accessories, as well as home decor. Vigliotti told SouthBMore.com that items in the store will be very affordable with 90% of the items less than $100 and 70% of the items less than $50.
Vigliotti got her start in the retail industry as a buyer at Charming Charlie, a women’s store that now has more than 400 locations, and then later opened The Velvet Frog, which is above a shop run by her mother.Vigliotti is looking forward to bringing in some lines not widely available in Maryland, such as Kendra Scott, and is excited to produce a lot of her own jewelry.
Vigliotti will be working with a manufacturer out of New York on her jewelry designs for her line Punchline Jewelry. Punch will be the flagship retailer for Punchline Jewelry. Vigliotti will have a corporate office above the boutique and is hoping to grow Punchline and make Punch a branded chain.
Vigliotti is excited to launch her new store and jewelry line in Federal Hill, “I like that it is unique and quaint, and love that the location is close to home.”
Vigliotti also sees big things for area retail with the upcoming redevelopment of the Cross Street Market, “I think it will bring in more business and keep more people on this side of the water.”
Punch will be open daily from 10am until 7pm or 8pm. Vigliotti will be hiring a couple of employees and will look to add to the staff as Punch and Punchline grow.
