Felici Café Opens in Federal Hill
1035 Light St., which Trattoria Annamaria occupied for 12 years, is now the home of Felici Café. The owners of Felici performed an extensive renovation of the space and will serve fresh salads, flatbread sandwiches, as well as coffees, espressos and more in their new space. The café is open seven days a week from 6am-4pm.
Joey B’s Closes
Joey B’s, which replaced The Hill at 1015 S. Charles St. in 2013, recently announced they will be closing their doors after four months of operation. In a message from their Facebook page, which was first reported by Richard Gorelick:
It is with great regret that we had to close down JOEY bs…..we loved our patrons and appreciate their loyalty.we enjoyed our time being part of federal hill and will miss the area tremendously. Have a wonderful holiday and a prosperous new year.
The space is currently available for lease.
Verizon Consolidates Stores
The Verizon Wireless at Southside Marketplace has moved into the Verizon Wireless at McHenry Row. This move leaves Southside with three vacancies totaling 6,407 sq. ft. of available space. This includes the former Popeye’s at suite 21 that has been vacant for many years.
Roomtag Moves to Betamore
Technical.ly Baltimore reported that Roomtag, a company that tracks office space for commercial real estate tenants, has moved into a space at Betamore at 1111 Light Street. From the article:
A majority of Roomtag’s 12-person workforce is based outside Baltimore, but five of the startup’s full-time staff just started working from the Federal Hill-based incubator Betamore. (Previously, the startup had been working from Clipper Mill in Hampden.)
“We’re actually a mature company for Betamore,” said Hart (Founder Marcia Hart). According to her, Roomtag has already been through a Series A round of funding. (SEC filings confirm that the startup raised $300,000 in equity in 2010.)
But she said that the move to Betamore was motivated by a desire to be closer to Baltimore’s tech community.
Carnivore BBQ Moving to Cross Street Market
Carnivore BBQ left their location at Hollins Market and will soon be relocating to Cross Street Market, according the the Cross Street Market website. Carnivore BBQ also has three food trucks that serve the DC area.
Out of Blue Out of Season
Out of the Blue Cafe, which specializes in snowballs and ice cream, has closed for the winter.
Ruben’s Crepes Closes
Ruben’s Crepes has closed their doors at 1043 S. Charles St. However, they still offer their crepes at many of the area’s farmers markets.
Vibe Hair Studio Closes
Vibe Hair Studio has closed their doors at 1539 Light St.
