Brightside Tattoo Shop Opens
Brightside Tattoo Shop has opened at the former home of Doggie Style at 1130 Light St. in Federal Hill. The shop was formerly located in the back of Brightside Boutique at 1133 S. Charles St.
Brightside Tattoo Shop also sells clothing.
Federal Hill Solutions Opens Second Office
Federal Hill Solutions, a Federal Hill-based company at 911 S. Charles. St. that offers resell hardware, outsourced IT, cloud solutions using its own cloud, and backup disaster recovery, opened a second office. Federal Hill Solutions’ new 2,000 sq. ft. technical operations center is located in Pigtown at 1100 Wicomico St. in an office building.
Orioles Camerman Becomes Ninja Warrior
Geoff Britten, a 36-year old Orioles camera operator for MASN, became the first ‘American Ninja Warrior’ by completing the three-stage course on NBC’s American Ninja Warrior. Unfortunately for Britten, fellow competitor Issac Caldiero also completed the course 3.5 seconds faster, taking first place and the $1 million prize.
Game Gets Live Entertainment
Game, a sports bar at 1400 Warner St. in the Stadium Area, was approved for live entertainment earlier this month, after the city delayed its request last year, according to The Baltimore Sun. From the article:
City Councilman Edward Reisinger said he initially opposed Trujillo’s request for the entertainment license, but came round after the bar opened and he saw how it operated. (Among other things, the capacity is smaller than originally planned.)

AOL recently named M&T Bank Stadium the 8th best stadium in the NFL.
Oriole Park at Camden Yards is near the top in nearly all baseball stadium rankings and New York Post writer Ken Davidoff recently named it the top ballpark in baseball.
Sam’s Grocery Closes
Sam’s Grocery at 1540 S. Charles St. in South Baltimore has closed.
Porter’s Update
Porter’s Pub of Federal Hill has now been closed for a couple months and owner Kevin Cooper told SouthBMore.com that they are actively working on getting the restaurant back open.
Retail Spaces Becoming Apartments
A former retail space at 1244 Light St. has been converted into a first-story apartment. The space was formerly Federal Hill Income Tax which relocated to 1003 Light St.
A zoning request has also been submitted to convert the former Vibe Hair Studio at 1539 Light St. into a first-story apartment.
