1493245_664486333574456_888509655_nRopewalk Tavern, which has been a part of the Federal Hill bar and restaurant scene for eighteen and a half years, is excited about some upcoming changes. Riding the success of Ropewalk Fenwick at the Delaware shore, owner Marc McFaul is looking to bring some of the concepts that made the Fenwick restaurant so popular to the Federal Hill location.

“Our sales have been declining since the smoking ban – we were a cigar bar,” said McFaul, who is looking to bring a more steady crowd outside of just Friday and Saturday nights.

With the help of their Fenwick chef, Ropewalk will be changing over to a seafood-heavy menu. They will be offering oysters, crab cakes, po’ boys, fresh fish, American classics, and much more. They will also update their name to Ropewalk Seafood Company and a new sign featuring a mermaid is in the works for the front of the building.

Ropewalk is also applying for live entertainment in hopes of having dueling piano shows in their back room two to three days a week.

Similar changes were recently made at Main Street Oyster House, Ropewalk’s restaurant in Bel Air which was formerly named Dark Horse.
