Three armed carjackings occurred in South Baltimore between 1045pm Sunday night and 545 am Monday morning. The incidents took place in the South Baltimore Neighborhood, Brooklyn, and Federal Hill.

11/26/17 at 10:00 pm (2) BM suspects armed with a handgun assaulted and robbed victim of their Grey 2013 Infinity G37 in the 1700 Block of S Charles
11/27/17 at 4:50 am (2) BM suspects physically removed victim sitting inside 2004 Mercedes in the 3600 Block of 5th Street. Vehicle was recovered this morning and (1) suspect arrested
11/27/17 at 5:45 am (3) BM suspects arm with handgun approached the victim’s 2016 Grey BMW 325XI in the 1200 Block of Key Highway and remove them from the vehicle. (Update 630pm: (1) Juvenile Suspect arrested and victim’s vehicle recovered this afternoon)

17 year – old Arrested for Armed Carjacking
On November 27, 2017, Southern District officers were summoned to the 1200 block of Key Highway when a 51 year-old woman was carjacked.
The suspects, three unknown black males, one of whom was armed, were driving in a vehicle behind the victim. They then crashed into the rear of the victim’s 2016 BMW.
After pretending to show concern for the victim, the three suspects forced the victim out of her vehicle at gunpoint, and sped away in both vehicles.
Citywide Robbery detectives investigated this armed carjacking and identified a suspect. Members of the Regional Auto Theft Task (RATT) Force began looking for the stolen vehicle.
On November 27, 2017, RATT officers arrested 17 year-old Da’quan Johnson of the 1000 block of Ellamont Street, in the 2000 block of Denison Street. In his pocket at the time of his arrest, officers found the key to the stolen BMW.
Additionally, officers located several more vehicles in the immediate area, that had been taken in recent armed carjackings.
Da’quan Johnson was transported to Central Booking where he has been charged as an adult with Armed Carjacking, Conspiracy to commit armed carjacking, Armed Robbery, various handgun violations, and various degrees of Assault.
Johnson remains in Central Booking and is being held without bail.
A hit and run also occurred on the 1300 block of Covington St. in Federal Hill South today at approximately 840am. Several cars were damaged including a parked car. BPD apprehended a juvenile suspect.
BPD is not sure at this time if the car was stolen or if this incident is related to the carjacking on the 1200 block of Key Hwy. which occurred about a block away.
