Himalayan Bistro will be opening this coming March in the former home of 7-Eleven at 1030 Light St., adjacent to the soon-to-open Blue Moon Café and below the new Charm City Yoga.
Information about the new restaurant from a Klein Enterprises press release:
Klein Enterprises today announced that Himalayan Bistro, specializing in fine Nepalese and Indian cuisine, will open at 1030 Light Street in Federal Hill in Spring 2015.
“Klein Enterprises is proud of our ability to find the best tenants for each of our properties while also providing the community with new, exciting and much-needed options,” said Daniel Flamholz, Klein Enterprises. “We are pleased that Himalayan Bistro will be opening at 1030 Light Street and look forward to providing diverse cuisine to the Federal Hill neighborhood.”
Chef Danny Lamichhane, who has more than 20 years of experience working in Indian restaurants, will lead the kitchen. Himalayan Bistro’s menu will include traditional Nepalese and Indian dishes including Chicken Tikka Masala, Momos Nepali and lamb chops.
Mohan Thapa, owner of Himalayan Bistro, jumped at the opportunity to join the Federal Hill neighborhood. “I could not pass up the opportunity to be so close to both the Horseshoe Casino and the Inner Harbor,” he said. “1030 Light Street is the perfect location for Himalayan Bistro and we hope that both Baltimore locals and visitors will enjoy our restaurant and cuisine.”
With construction already underway, Himalayan Bistro is expected to open in March 2015.
