Euguene McDowell, the 28-year-old president and owner of The Sushi Place, has been a busy man the last couple of years. He opened his first restaurant in Canton (BYOB) in the summer of 2012, followed up by a second location in Federal Hill in the summer of 2013.
The Sushi Place Federal Hill at 1400 Key Hwy. has now opened their bar after a recent liquor license transfer to the location. McDowell told SouthBMore.com they will be serving, “mind-blowing mixed drinks, saki martinis, 20 plus flavors of saki, Japanese beers, wine and more.”
“We believe we have the best traditional Japanese sushi in Baltimore,” said McDowell. In addition to sushi, The Sushi Place also serves Japanese and Korean ramen noodles, wagyu beef, filet mignon, appetizers, sushi tapas and Japanese fried chicken. McDowell noted they are also adding to the menu every chance they get.
The Sushi Place also puts a huge emphasis on service. “We thrive on providing the best possible service. You will never order sushi on a piece of paper and pencil,” said McDowell.
The Sushi Place will also be opening their third restaurant in the next few weeks, The Sushi Place Downtown, at 7 E. Lexington St. Seating nearly 100 people, this will be the biggest restaurant of the group. The new downtown location features murals throughout the space, neon lighting and a large bar.
All three locations offers free delivery.
“Come join us at one of our three locations, we are always pushing to be better. Please contact us anytime, we welcome your comments,” said McDowell.
