photoSouth Baltimore’s most famous karaoke bar will be under new ownership soon. On Tuesday, January 14th, Ryan Perlberg, Eric Levitt and Doug Atwell of the restaurant group purchasing Federal Hill’s Nevin’s Cross Street Station at 31 E. Cross St. presented new plans to the South Baltimore Neighborhood Association (SBNA). The restaurant group also owns the new Stuggy’s at 17 E. Cross St., the third location for the gourmet hot dog restaurant, as well as restaurants Rye and Willow in Fells Point.

The yet-to-be-named restaurant will have a “major” food element and will feature healthier, “New American” foods inspired by Northern California/San Francisco-style dining. There will also be an emphasis on craft cocktails, similar to Rye, which will be some of the most expensive drinks available in Federal Hill.

The group is planning a major renovation of the property including gutting the first floor, building a new kitchen and renovating the second floor. The first floor will feature a bar, tables for dining, new bathrooms and a kitchen. The second floor will include a second bar, tables for dining and additional bathrooms. The capacity is expected to be about 150.

The group is looking into the possibility of adding a valet service and they hope to eventually apply for live entertainment. They will be taking over the property at the beginning of February with hopes of reopening this spring or summer.

The group is very close to reaching an MOU with SBNA. The plan received unanimous support from the membership.

The plans and agreement can be seen here.
