FULL TILT BREWING Announces its Berger Cookie Chocolate Stout, 11/6

Craft brewing is a surging industry throughout the country and Baltimore is no exception as several new breweries have launched and others are in the works. FULL TILT BREWING, which launched in late 2012, has captured the Baltimore charm with their first three beers – Baltimore Pale Ale, Fleet Street Raspberry Wheat and Patterson Pumpkin. Their recently-released and newest beer, Berger Cookie Chocolate Stout, garnered major excitement around town as they partnered with DeBaufre Bakeries, the founder of the famous fudge cookie. As Baltimore launched a new master plan for the Inner Harbor, SouthBMore.com knew we had to check in with Todd Webster of Baltimore Beach Volleyball to see where they fit in. Webster is not sure of the future of Baltimore Beach at the Inner Harbor’s Rash Field, but has been offered an 8-court setup, with the potential for concessions, at Swann Park.

Hammerjacks to Open $20 Million Music Venue at Lot N, 11/14

There is a lot of excitement around South Baltimore as the legendary rock club Hammerjacks announced they are making a comeback at Lot N near M&T Bank Stadium and the upcoming Horseshoe Casino. The music venue and sports bar will be a $20 million, 50,000 sq. ft. venue that will be able to hold up to 4,000 patrons. They hope to break ground very soon and open sometime in Fall 2014.

Uber Launches More Affordable uberX in Baltimore, 11/1

It was a good month for news about exciting new ways to get around Baltimore. Uber launched uberX, a more affordable version of the car ride service. Mid-range cars and hybrids, as opposed to larger black town cars, will be used and rates will be about half the price.

Locust Point-based retrievRE Launches to Help Small Businesses Find Office Space, 11/13

Solstice Partners, the developers of 900 E. Fort Ave., created a new website to help small businesses in their search for office space called retrievRE. Now in Baltimore and Baltimore County, Solstice hopes to expand into more of the surrounding counties, in addition to Washington, DC and Philadelphia in the near future.
